Roots of pacha xbox one1/27/2024 ![]() It has a very fresh and fun take on many things. It feels so, so good to be able to go pet my former farm animals and still share a bound with them, even if I plan on continue raising and breeding with their offspring. I also want to note that I enjoy talking to all the NPCs off the game WAY more than I do in other farming sims, since most of them to have a lot of different lines and do actually react on what you wear, wich pets you have etc.Īnd last but not least: THANK YOU SO MUCH for giving us an option to release our farm animals back into the wild WITHOUT them disapearing into the void forever. I disliked almost every "cave"-system other farming sims offered, but I LOVE the one in Roots of Pacha. Especially the way Roots of Pacha handles fishing, befriending and breeding animals and farming itself feels so innovative and just refreshingly different from other titles in the genre in all the best ways to me. I am a lover of pixel art anyways, but the amount of love and detail that went into designing all the graphics still stands out to me.īut even more important and noteable than the looks of the game are the mechanics. The game has SO many good and innovative takes on the farming sim genre, it has been a blast for me to play so far and I will continue to spend as many time with the game as possible.įirst of all, the world is stunningly beautiful. I've played Roots of Pacha for nearly 27 hours since the release and I've deeply fallen in love with it. I'm having fun, and am curious to see what ideas my tribe comes up with next. My only con is that I got stuck once and there is no unstuck button so I had to wait until 2am to pass out lol. the artwork is wonderful and the community seems to be full of interesting characters. seed pouch and tool belt are separate from inventory and other actions. The fishing mini-game is relaxing, though I'm sure some will think it's too easy. The map shows you where everyone is at any given time, so no more schedule memorizing. In the caves, there are challenges / puzzles and mysteries to figure out, and no combat. Instead of saving up to buy upgrades and animals, I get to help community members who get "ideas" for improvements as the community itself grows, and these ideas aren't just items either, some of them are concepts, like tracking time. ![]() There's no lonely walk to town or being apart from everyone as I work on my chores. Pacha offers many QoL and other refreshing changes that make it feel more like a fun, relaxing game and less like a time-management chore. While the typical Stardew-like mechanics are there, (planting, harvesting, fishing, friendships, gift-giving, animal raising, housing, decorating, caves, etc) the similarities are only surface deep.
